Christmas, Birthdays, Weddings, Mother's Day, Father's Day

Welcome. Thank you for your interest in the glass and art industry. Throughout this website you will be able to view samples of hand engraved glass as well learn about the glass industry in West Virginia and Sandy Conrad's history of working with glass.

Keep in mind that the glassware seen on this website may not be available. The designs that Sandy engraves on the glass can be done on any piece of glass that is thick enough to withstand the engraving. However, the supply of some vases and other items you will see may no longer be available.

Sandy has recently experimented with wood burning. She likes to work with Ash because the bark stays on the wood better than any other wood she has experimented with. She chips some of the bark off the wood piece and burns the design into the smooth area. This give the piece a more rustic look. She then uses oil based colored pencils on most of the lamps to add color to the design. All lamps are then coated with polyurethane to protect it and the base is covered with felt to protect your serfaces. As with the glass, the lamps you see on the site may no longer be available, but could be recreated.

***NEW ITEMS***

In addition to the wood lamps and glass items, Sandy also makes novelty items such as the "Hillbilly Chainsaw" or "West Virginia Chainsaw." Of course, you can custom order your chainsaw to include a family name, county, or state. To see a picture click on Gallery-Wood Burning.

Wine Bottle Lamps: Sandy also has begun making lamps out of wine bottles. These wine bottles are engraved with a picture or scene and come with a lampshade. To see a picture click on Gallery-Hand Engraved Glass.

Stone Cut Glass: To see pictures click on Gallery-Hand Engraved Glass and scroll to the bottom of the page to see several examples of what stone cut glass looks like. It has a softer look than the glass that was cut with the Electer E-max machine (Dremel).

If you have questions about specific pieces or designs please contact Sandy.

Designs that can be engraved on glass or burnt on lamps:
